Dog First Aid Course

Join Kerry, a Registered Veterinary Nurse for a relaxed, interactive 4-hour Dog First Aid Course, packed with practical information and hands-on sessions designed to give you essential first aid knowledge and skills.

Please note: This is a human-attendee course, so please do not bring your dog with you.  Practical sessions will be carried out using training equipment and demonstration models.

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them. Knowing what to look for, what to do and how to act quickly can give you the confidence to help your dog when they need you most.

What will you learn?

Module 1 - Recognising & Responding to Emergencies

We'll cover:

The different categories of emergency
What is normal for your pet and how to recognise when something is wrong
Understanding shock
CPCR (Cardiopulmonary Cerebral Resuscitation) - including a practical session
Near drowning

Module 2 - Common Emergencies & Practical First Aid

We'll look at how to respond to a range of common emergencies, including:

What to do if your dog is choking
Managing dog fights and injuries
Heatstroke
Seizures
Wounds and bleeding
Practical bandaging

The sessions are designed to be relaxed, interactive and practical, giving you the opportunity to take part and develop your confidence in essential first aid techniques.

With small groups, Kerry is able to provide a more personal approach and plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

Meet Your Instructor - Kerry Stubbs

The course is delivered by Kerry Stubbs RVN CertVNECC MBVNA and owner of Pet Owners First Aid.

Kerry is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing Emergency and Critical Care, bringing valuable veterinary knowledge and practical experience to her animal first aid training.

Through Pet Owners First Aid, Kerry delivers certified and accredited cat and dog first aid courses for both pet owners and professionals. Her practical approach focuses on helping people understand what to look for, how to respond and, importantly, how to remain as calm and confident as possible during an emergency.

Pet Owners First Aid courses are CPDUK certified and accredited by AMTRA & CHA.
