discover the food village
Written by: Amie Poole
Found at the heart of our Faversham location, The Food Village showcases some of Kent's best small, local independent street food traders.
Launching for the 2022 summer season on Friday April 29th from 11am - 9pm, it offers outdoor coffee and dining seven days a week, although individual trader days and hours vary.
Here's our guide to our updated line-up of traders and their dishes not to miss...
Taco Bill
Regulars on the festival scene, Taco Bill have a permanent summer-long pop-up at The Food Village (generally open every Thursday - Sunday).
Their authentic taco offering features the very best Mexican market food menu, created by talented chef Will Burnett.
Their line-up of Tacos, Burritos and Nachos is an 'every one's a winner' type affair.
But whatever you order, make sure you have it come with a side of their Totchos - a magical mix of Tater Tots, Chipotle, Cheese and Pico De Gallo.
The Deck
Open seven days a week, you’ll find Macknade’s dedicated in-house team getting in on the street food action out on the Food Village deck.
Here you can grab everything from a coffee and a Grain and Hearth pastry, to a made to order Woodfired Pizza from their resident chefs.
With Italian heritage a key part of the Macknade story, The Deck’s pizza and panuozzo menu sees regional twists on traditional dishes and some fabulous fusion flavours. The Breakfast Butty is a happy place where Italian baking and British breakfasting collide, while the smoky N’duja Pizza is brings a taste of Naples to a field in Faversham.
The Saffa Bru
The Saffa Bru are a family-run business led by chef-owner Keaton, bringing you the best South African flavours.
.
The Saffa Bru’s Ribeye Steak Fries with Peppercorn Sauce, Kimchi & Mango Salsa are hands down the staff favourite.
Mamie’s Crepes
A father and son team with some serious French heritage, Mamie’s Crepes use a secret family recipe passed down through the generations.
While it’s very hard to pick a winner from Mamie’s extensive crepe menu, for us the loaded Biscoff Crepe is hard to beat.
