ITALY UNCORKED: Tuscany

We're celebrating Macknade's Italian heritage with a series of wine tastings in our Wine Store. We'll explore wines from various regions in Italy, starting from the Alps and moving down to the Islands. Italy has more unique grape varieties than France, Spain, and Portugal combined and with so many wines from so many different areas, it can be a bit overwhelming. Join us to uncork the best of each region and explore their exciting and diverse offerings! 

TUSCANY

The most important region in central Italy takes center stage as our focal point on this session. Tuscany is primarily acclaimed for its red wines, however, we'll diverge briefly to appreciate the minerally notes of a Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Sangiovese, the paramount grape variety, will be our guide as we navigate through a spectrum of red wines, spanning IGT Toscana, the Chianti zone, and the esteemed regions of Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. We will complement our wine selection with carefully curated samples of regional delights from our Deli counter.
