Lockdown Larder Tomato Sauce
As the basis of so many great dishes, a staple tomato sauce should be in everyone's recipe repertoire...
45 minutes to prepare
Serves 4 (or more for pizza toasts!)
Ingredients
500g tinned tomatoes, drained of their juice
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (or red/white vinegar)
100ml stock
2 pinches chilli flakes
2 pinches of celery salt
2 pinches of sugar
1 good squirt of tomato ketchup
Cracked black pepper
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a pan
Bring to the boil
Reduce to a simmer
Cook for 45 minutes or until reduced to a thick sauce
