Half Term Halloween Fun
Thursday 24th October 2019, 10am – 1pm and 2pm to 5pm
We are once again joining forces with the team at Young Cooks for a fun day of foodie activities for primary schoolchildren, in a bid to uncover the region’s best young kitchen talent.
Halloween themed activities will run throughout the day in the Kiln Room, above our café in Faversham, for kids aged 5-11 years old.
Children will get the chance to design and carve their own pumpkins (with the help of the adults of course!), and Wasted Kitchen will be on hand making pumpkin gnocchi & offering plenty of inspiration about what you can do with your pumpkins after Halloween is over.
Slumber Teepees will also be joining us to create a special activity corner for the little ones including glitter face painting and a fancy dress competition… so encourage them to get dressed up in the spirit of Halloween.
For young aspiring bakers, there will be an opportunity to add icing designs to spooky cakes & biscuits, plus a handful of other Halloween crafts & games to keep them occupied.
There are two sessions available to book – 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm – and you can do so using the form below. Spaces are limited for each session, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
There is a small charge of £5 per child, which gives access to all of the activities.
Parents/carers – Please note that this is a drop in event and you can bring your child at any point during these slots. You are expected to stay & supervise your children, and get hands on where necessary.
Bring your kids along to get inspired about the joys of food and encourage them to get creative in the kitchen for Young Cooks!
About Young Cooks
Young Cooks is a Masterchef-style cookery competition open to children aged 6 to 19 from across the south-east, encouraging young people to get in the kitchen and explore the abundance of great produce that is at their fingertips.
Entries for the 2019 competition are now open and can be made here. The categories are primary, secondary and family (where parents cook alongside their children), so there’s no excuse not to get involved!
Entries close on 6th November 2019.
