Homemade Lemon & Limeade

This summer recipe is extremely easy as well as refreshingly thrist quenching!

15 minutes to prepare
Serves 8

  • 8 lemons
  • 8 limes
  • 1.5L water
  • 250g brown sugar (to taste)
  • 10-15 mint leaves
  • Plenty of ice to serve


  1. Juice 7 lemons and 7 limes into a large heatproof jug.
  2. Thinly slice the left over lemon and lime and add these to the jug with the citrus juice.
  3. Next place the water and sugar in a saucepan and heat gently until all the sugar has dissolved. This should take around 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the sugar and water solution into the jug with the lemon and lime juice and slices then put in the fridge to chill. If you're not sure if your jug is heatproof, leave the water and sugar mixture to cool seperately and then add to the jug.
  5. When the liquid has cooled place your mint leaves in your hand and clap. This will help to release all the flavour.
  6. Stir in your mint leaves and then add plenty of ice!
  7. Give the drink a try and then if needed stir in more sugar to taste.
  8. Serve over plenty of ice!
