In 2005, Kresse Wesling had a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. Learning that London’s damaged, decommissioned hoses were headed to landfill, she and her partner, Elvis, mounted a rescue mission and set up Elvis & Kresse to save it.
As a result, none of London’s fire-hoses have gone into landfill for over a decade and over 170 tons of material has been reclaimed. Their unique, luxury bags, accessories & homewares have a dedicated following and an extraordinary 50% of profits from the fire-hose range is donated to the Fire Fighters Charity.
In 2017, Elvis & Kresse partnered with the Burberry Foundation to tackle the ever growing global problem of leather waste. This five-year partnership will see at least 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts from Burberry transformed into new luxury items, designed and sold by Elvis & Kresse. 50% of the profits from the leather rescue project will be donated to renewable energy projects as well.
We were excited to learn that Elvis & Kresse are in fact Kent folk too, with their main workshop located just down the road from us in Tonge. You can check out their upcoming local events here or visit their website to learn more.
