On Saturday September 17th we celebrated one year of our butchery counter at Macknade…
And hasn’t time flown!
We had been planning our butchery for quite some time so it was a special moment to open the counter last year and receive such great feedback.
Since then, our butchery has been slowly expanding, and we now have five full and part-time butchers on the team (so you may spot a few new faces behind the counter!).
Whilst we still have some tweaks to make (and plenty of new ideas to action!), it’s been a fantastic year and we really appreciate all your support. Please do continue to give us as much feedback as possible so we can continue improving and adding to our offer!
To celebrate the occasion, we were at the Faversham Food Festival on September 18th with our Head Butcher, Roy, demonstrating how to butcher a lamb.
Those who joined us for the demonstration had the opportunity to enter into a competition to win one of ten lamb packs, which were picked at random following the event. Well done to the lucky winners – we hope you enjoyed your lamb and would love to hear what you cooked!
If that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, we were also named as the champions in the sausage trail, winning both the experts’ and peoples’ choice for our Saucy Cumberlands, made especially for the festival.
