Kentish Hogget Supper
Join us on May 6th at 7pm for a hogget tasting & supper with the Pasture Fed Livestock Association (PFLA).
During this extra special event, we will be showcasing shoulders of Kentish hogget from a handful of Pasture For Life certified farmers in Kent, exploring their different flavour profiles and comparing them.
Earlier this year, we became Pasture for Life certified as a butcher of pasture-fed meat (making us the only certified butcher in the whole of East Kent!) and we want to shout about why we’re getting involved!
Each of the farmers will be joining us on the night to talk about their hogget and how they are raised. You’ll also be hearing from our Head Butcher, Roy Campbell, about why we support the Pasture for Life movement, and from the PFLA themselves…
If that’s not enough, the team at Boutilliers (our on-site brewers!) are creating a beer pairing for the occasion to compliment the hogget.
If you’re not sure what hogget is, don’t worry, we can help… It’s a little older than lamb but younger than mutton (usually aged between 12 and 24 months!). This means the shoulders are slightly larger than what you’re probably used to and have had more time to develop flavour!
Like most of our events, the hogget tasting will be supper club style, with everyone seated banquet style in our café area. This gives you chance to meet new people and mingle… but don’t worry, we’ll make sure all parties get seated together.
Tickets are priced at £40 and include a tasting of four hogget and your beer pairing. We’re also including a canapé & welcome drink, a selection of seasonal sides, a light dessert and tea & coffee to finish the evening off. Additional drinks will be available to purchase from the bar on the night.
Space is limited, so please don’t hesitate and book your tickets below!
